About me

My name is Michelle Liu, and I am the founder of Activism and Leadership for Youths, or ALFY for short. I am a junior at the Davidson Academy of Nevada who enjoys giving back to my community and empowering others to make a difference. I created project ALFY to inspire and help elementary students to be leaders and give back to their communities. I help students create and accomplish activism projects by breaking down the process of activism into smaller steps and guiding them through those steps.

To do this, I developed a curriculum consisting of presentations and worksheets based on a 3-step process for planning and accomplishing a project: Brainstorm, Action, and Modify—BAM for short. Using this curriculum, I will visit classrooms throughout my community to talk about activism and leadership, and help students accomplish activism projects.
